Blue 13 is a collaborative project between long-time friends Chris Curren and Dan Marunowski, who drew upon their past fine dining experience to create a truly unique contemporary American dining destination. "People would see our arms covered in tattoos and the fact that we weren't wearing suits, and think we didn't belong there," Marunowski stated. So they created a fine dining establishment, focused on the food, but with an atmosphere and service that would make anyone comfortable.

Blue 13 brings contemporary American cuisine to new heights at this trendy yet sophisticated River North restaurant. It showcases a seasonal menu of fine dining fare in a hip, relaxed atmosphere decorated with tattoo-inspired artwork, exposed brick walls, dark woods and faux-snakeskin banquettes. An experienced and intelligent staff and ever-changing modern rock playlist add warmth and energy.

Between Executive Chef Chris Curren's creative menu selections (e.g., truffled mac 'n' cheese or his signature "steak and egg on acid") and General Manager/Beverage Director Dan Marunowki's intelligent, detailed and budget-friendly wine list, expect a relaxed fine dining experience that is truly out of the ordinary - and free from pretense or self-importance.

Blue 13 is an upscale restaurant and lounge serving contemporary American food in a casual, urban atmosphere. Pairing classic American food with a more modern French and Italian flair whilst providing unobtrusive service. Open Tues & Weds 5pm - midnight, Thurs - Sat. 5pm - 2am, and Sun 5pm - 10pm.
